Notice for Contributors
- MANUSCRIPTS. The Chemical Education Journal
(CEJ) publishes two types of contribution: research papers and
teaching-materials, about chemical education and education activities
in either English or Japanese. Each manuscript should be composed of
WWW (world wide web) pages such as HTML (hyper text markup language)
files, sound and/or picture files, and so on; and each WWW page should
be readable by a WWW browser. By your submission of the manuscript to
CEJ you warrant that the article is an original work on your part and
has not been published previously and is not currently under
consideration for publication elsewhere.
- SUBMISSION. Every contributor loads the
manuscript on a WWW server; then, none of the WWW pages except for the
manuscript must link to the manuscript. Note that the Editorial Board
(EB) of CEJ regards the manuscript as being published if any WWW page
except for the manuscript calls it. If you have no such WWW servers,
consult the EB of CEJ by
e-mail = cej3
kj.utsunomiya-u.ac.jp
The submission of the URL (uniform resource locator)
of the first page (root page) of the manuscript to the EB should be by
the e-mail. The first page must contain the title, a list of author's
names, the postal address of the institution at which the work was
done, and the abstract; the corresponding author with the e-mail
address is indicated by an asterisk.
- REVIEWING. Every research paper will be
subject to anonymous review by experts who are not the editors of CEJ.
Each teaching-material
contribution will be reviewed by the EB only, and not subjected to
anonymous
peer-review refereeing. Notwithstanding the reviewing of the
manuscript, the final decision on acceptance, revision, or rejection
remains with the EB. Authors for whom English is a foreign language are
advised to have the contribution checked by native English speakers.
The corresponding author must reply the e-mail message of the EB within
1 week.
- ACCEPTANCE. The volume number, the date of
reception, etc., will be sent to the corresponding author, if the
manuscript is accepted for publication in CEJ. Then the author should
add these data (and the term [Refereed Research Paper] if the article
is a research paper) to the top of the manuscript on the WWW server.
- COPYRIGHTS. Authors are not required to
transfer the copyrights to CEJ. However, every author must guarantee to
the readers of CEJ the readability of the article on the WWW server for
6 months, and cannot submit the manuscript to other journals for 3
months; no corrected version must be loaded on the WWW server during
these time intervals. The EB of CEJ disclaims all responsibility for
the publication of CEJ. Submitted contents are the responsibility of
the authors concerned. No reprints are available to authors.
